San Mateo County Green Jobs Corps Vision:
WIA (Workforce Investment Act) eligible youth will transfer learned skills and experience into secured long-term employment in emerging green industries.
San Mateo County Green Jobs Corps Mission:
WIA (Workforce Investment Act) eligible youth, ages 16-24, will build transferable leadership skills through education, be provided training in emerging green industries, and increase environmental awareness through community service project participation.

Eligibility Summary:
All participants in the San Mateo County Green Jobs Corps must meet requirements under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and be within the ages of 16-24. All SMC GJC participants must meet the low income requirement* and one or more of the following criteria:
- Out-of-School youth
- Foster youth
- Youth offender
- Youth with a disability
- Migrant and seasonal farm worker youth
- Youth of incarcerated parents
- Native American and Indian youth
- Requires additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment.
* Participants, ages 19-24, do not need to meet the low income requirement.
Status Update (as of August 19, 2010): The Green Jobs Corps is nearing the end of its term. The final Green Jobs Corps opportunity will be an IT program cohort through Goodwill Industries.
